2. Using our website

You may use our website for lawful purposes only.

You must not:

  • Misuse, damage or interfere with the operation or security of the website

  • Introduce viruses, malicious code or other harmful material

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its connected systems

  • Use automated systems to extract website content without our permission

  • Use the website fraudulently or in connection with unlawful activity

We may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, our customers or our business.

3. Product information

We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, images and prices are accurate.

Product colours and appearance may vary slightly because of differences in screens, photography, lighting or manufacturing batches. Packaging may also change without affecting the product itself.

Dimensions and measurements are approximate unless stated otherwise.

You are responsible for checking that a product is suitable for your intended use, environment, equipment and electrical requirements. Products must be used and installed in accordance with their supplied instructions, safety information and stated ratings.

4. Product availability

All products are subject to availability.

Adding a product to your basket does not reserve it. If a product becomes unavailable after you place an order, we will contact you and refund any amount paid for the unavailable item.

We may limit the quantity of a product that can be purchased in a single order where reasonably necessary.

5. Placing an order

When you place an order, you are offering to purchase the products in your basket under these terms.

After receiving your order, we will send an acknowledgement email. This confirms that we have received your order but does not necessarily mean that we have accepted it.

A contract between you and us is formed when we send confirmation that your order has been dispatched.

We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch if:

  • A product is unavailable

  • We cannot authorise or verify payment

  • We cannot deliver to the address provided

  • We identify suspected fraud or misuse

  • You are not eligible to purchase the product

  • There is an obvious error in the product description or price

If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will issue a full refund for the cancelled items.

6. Prices and payment

Prices displayed on our website are in pounds sterling and include UK VAT where applicable, unless clearly stated otherwise.

Delivery charges, where applicable, are shown before you complete checkout.

We may change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders that have already been accepted.

If we discover an obvious pricing error before accepting your order, we will contact you. You may confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.

Payment is taken using the payment methods shown at checkout. Payment services may be provided by Shopify or another secure payment provider.

You must be authorised to use the payment method supplied with your order.

7. Discount codes and promotions

Discount codes and promotional offers may be subject to additional terms, including expiry dates, minimum order values, eligible products or customer restrictions.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Only one discount code may be used per order

  • Discount codes cannot be exchanged for cash

  • Discount codes cannot be applied retrospectively

  • Delivery charges do not count towards a minimum order value

  • We may withdraw or amend a promotion before an order is placed

We may reject a discount where we reasonably believe it has been misused.

8. Delivery

We currently deliver to the locations and using the delivery options shown at checkout.

Delivery estimates are not guaranteed unless we expressly agree otherwise. Events outside our reasonable control may occasionally cause delays.

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. We are not responsible for delays or losses caused by incorrect or incomplete delivery information supplied by you.

If nobody is available to receive the order, the carrier may leave instructions, attempt redelivery or deliver the parcel to an appropriate collection point.

Please inspect your order after delivery and tell us promptly if anything is missing, damaged or incorrect.

9. Ownership and risk

Responsibility for the products passes to you when they are delivered to you, or to a person or location nominated by you.

Ownership of the products passes to you once we have received payment in full.

10. Cancelling an order

If you wish to cancel an order before dispatch, contact us as soon as possible. We will try to stop it, although this may not be possible once it has entered the dispatch process.

UK consumers normally have a legal right to cancel an online purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason.

Our Return and Refund Policy provides a 30-day change-of-mind return period, subject to the conditions set out in that policy.

To request a cancellation or return, contact sales@philex.com.

Full information about eligibility, return postage and refunds is available in our Return and Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

11. Faulty or incorrectly supplied products

Products supplied to consumers must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.

If a product is faulty, damaged on arrival or not what you ordered, contact us at sales@philex.com. Depending on the circumstances and your legal rights, we may offer a repair, replacement, full refund or partial refund.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer-protection law.

12. Five-year guarantee

Eligible SLx products are covered by our five-year guarantee, subject to its separate terms and exclusions.

The guarantee does not normally cover:

  • Accidental or cosmetic damage

  • Misuse, neglect or improper storage

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Use outside the product’s specified ratings or intended environment

  • Incorrect installation or failure to follow supplied instructions

  • Unauthorised repairs, alterations or modifications

For technical assistance or a guarantee claim, contact technical@philex.com.

The guarantee is provided in addition to your statutory rights and does not replace or restrict them.

13. Product safety

Electrical products must be used safely and in accordance with their instructions.

You are responsible for:

  • Checking the product’s voltage, current, power and environmental ratings

  • Using products only for their intended purpose

  • Fully unwinding cable reels when required by the instructions or connected load

  • Protecting products from water or weather unless they carry an appropriate IP rating

  • Ensuring that any required installation is completed by a competent person

Stop using a product immediately if it appears damaged, overheats or operates unexpectedly.

Contact technical@philex.com if you are uncertain about the safe or suitable use of a product.

14. Our responsibility to consumers

We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breaching these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, losses caused by your failure to follow product instructions, or losses caused by using a product for an unsuitable or unintended purpose.

We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • Defective products where liability cannot legally be excluded

  • Your statutory consumer rights

Products sold through the website are primarily supplied for private use. If you use a product for commercial purposes, we are not responsible for business losses such as loss of profit, revenue, contracts, opportunity or business interruption, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

15. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control.

These may include severe weather, transport disruption, carrier failure, industrial action, utility or communications outages, government action, fire, flood, epidemic, pandemic or supply-chain disruption.

We will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect of the event and fulfil our obligations as soon as reasonably possible.

16. Intellectual property

The website and its content—including text, product information, photographs, graphics, logos, designs and software—belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws.

You may view and use the website for personal shopping and information purposes.

You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, sell or commercially exploit website content without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.

“SLx” and associated branding are trademarks or trading names used by Philex Electronic Limited.

17. Third-party services and links

Our website may include links to third-party websites or use services provided by third parties, including payment processors and delivery companies.

We are not responsible for the content, availability or privacy practices of third-party websites. Their separate terms and policies may apply when you use their services.

18. Privacy

We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law.

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies as explained in our Cookie Policy or cookie settings.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes to our products, services, business practices or legal obligations.

The terms applying to an order are those displayed when the order is placed. Changes will not retrospectively alter an order that has already been accepted.

20. General terms

If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

If we delay enforcing any right, that does not mean we have waived it.

No person other than you and us has the right to enforce these terms.

You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our written agreement. We may transfer our rights or obligations where this does not reduce your protections under these terms.

21. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you retain any mandatory protections provided by the law where you live and may bring proceedings in the courts available to you under applicable law.
